Henry Nowak’s killer to be allowed to appeal his sentence
Vickrum Digwa, who lied to police and was subsequently found guilty of the murder of Henry Nowak set to appeal his 21 year prison sentence.
Attorney General Ellie Reeves referred Digwa’s sentence to the Court of Appeal in June, arguing that it was “unduly lenient.”
The following month, it emerged that Digwa was also seeking to challenge his conviction and sentence.
Now, court officials have confirmed that a judge has given Digwa permission to appeal against his sentence.
His appeal will be heard on 5 November, alongside the Attorney General’s attempt to have his jail term increased.
So on the same day, the Court of Appeal will consider Digwa’s bid to reduce/change his sentence and the Attorney General’s bid to increase it.
